Resumo: The Oxford Handbook of Adaptation Studies brings an overview of Adaptation Studies and their intersections with related fields. The seven parts that make up the compendium address the process of establishment and evolution of Adaptation Studies as a discipline, specificities of adaptation of classical works, revisionist adaptive practices and expansion of fictional universes, adaptation to and from specific genres, adaptation and intertextuality, relationships between adaptation and other research fields, teaching adaptation and its academic status. The forty essays are authored by some of the most renowned researchers in the field. The result is a book of great credibility for both the breadth of topics approached and the analytical rigor.
