GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND CONFUSION IN THE ARTISTIC CONTEXT

Resumo: | Since the beginning of 2023, the emergence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) of texts and images has caused the surprising adoption of millions of users, accompanied by the production of news and academic texts related to their sociocultural, political, and aesthetic impacts. This article is located in the field of aesthetic discussions about works whose authors use IAG and which are presented in competitions, receiving awards and, therefore, causing controversial discursive effects. Based on the research of information regarding the most important cases that occurred in various parts of the world, the objective of this work is to analyze the set of these events to extract from them conclusions situated in the background and continuity of two centuries of technological aesthetic productions, since the advent of photography. |

Este artículo se ubica en el campo de las discusiones estéticas sobre obras cuyos autores utilizan IAG y que se presentan en concursos, recibiendo premios y, por lo tanto, provocando efectos discursivos controvertidos. Basado en la investigación de información sobre los casos más importantes ocurridos en diversas partes del mundo, el objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el conjunto de estos eventos para extraer de ellos conclusiones situadas en el contexto y la continuidad de dos siglos de producciones estéticas tecnológicas, desde la llegada de la fotografía.Desde o início do ano de 2023, a emergência da Inteligência Artificial Generativa (IAG) de textos e imagens vem provocando a adesão surpreendente de milhões de usuários, acompanhada de uma produção de textos noticiosos e acadêmicos relativos aos seus impactos socioculturais, políticos e estéticos. Este artigo se situa no campo das discussões estéticas sobre obras cujos autores fazem uso da IAG e que são apresentadas em concursos, recebendo prêmios e, com isso, provocando efeitos discursivos controversos.
