Resumo: This paper presents the application of a research of bionics and biomimetics in the course of design. The article emphasizes that bionics and biomimetics should be encouraged as important approaches to innovation and sustainability. Documentary research has shown that approaches related to a greater knowledge of nature can help to the development of products more innovative and suitable for the environment. As a result the article shows the research of natural systems performed as activity in innovation discipline in the course of design.
