Biopower and Biopoetics in the Poetry of Julián Axat: Yluminarya and the Genocide in Argentina

Resumo: The article deals with the poetry of Julián Axat, and with his images of the genocide that occurred during the Argentinean military rule. This poet, deeply influenced by Roberto Bolaño, creates a “biopoetics” in order to oppose to the biopower of the terror sponsored by the State. The article highlights the book Ylumynarya, which expands the political limits of the poetical representation of terror, comparing it with the sculpture of Alberto Heredia, an artist who also employed the silence of the body’s remains to denounce the violence in Argentina.
