Resumo: In this paper we describe the characteristics of the footwear industry in Franca as the productionprocess, commercial relations and management wast solid through field visits to their representatives. Asfor the results its production process consists of multiple steps, not always nothing working witch cuttingedge technology and shortage of basic research and its products generally are not unique. In relationcommercial industry is often a mere supplier of manpower to marks of others. Prevails solid waste disposalto landfill of the Municipality. This results that the industries should improve the ways to create, produce and market their products, as well as manage the solid waste in order to ensure its continued existence anddevelopment in the market.

En cuanto a los resultados de su processo de producción consistede muchos pasos, no siempre se trabaja con tecnologia de última generación, falta investigación básica ysus productos generalmente no son únicos. En la relación comercial es simple proveedor de mano de obraa las marcas de los demás. Prevalece la destinación de residuos e desechos sólidos en vertedero de laMunicipalidad. El resultado es que las industrias deben mejorar las formas de crear, producir ycomercializar sus productos, asi como gestionar los residuos y desechos sólidos a fin de garantizar sucontinuidad y desarrollo en el mercado.http://dx.doi.org/10.5902/223611703076Neste trabalho se descrevem as características da indústria de calçados de Franca quanto ao processo produtivo, à relação comercial e o manejo de resíduos e rejeitos sólidos, através de visitas de campo aos seus representantes. Quanto aos resultados seu processo produtivo é constituído de múltiplasetapas, nem sempre trabalha com tecnologia de última geração, há escassez de pesquisa básica, e seus produtos geralmente não são originais. Na relação comercial a indústria muitas vezes é mera fornecedora de mão-de-obra a marcas de terceiros. Prevalece a destinação de resíduos e rejeitos sólidos ao aterro sanitário da Municipalidade.
