Resumo: The aim of this work is to characterize representations of international university students regarding the genre abstract. This investigation is based on issues related to the academic writing based on genres (STREET, 2009), which should be understood as social practice (BAZERMAN, 1988; BERKENKOTTER; HUCKIN, 1995), and to studies of academic literacy in additional language (LILLIS; SCOTT, 2007). For this, I choose to analyze a section of a Didactic Unit, developed by me, as well as written journals produced by students. The results indicate that the Didactic Unit developed, the way I conduct classes and/or what students do, tend to a work with genre under a textual perspective.

O objetivo deste trabalho é caracterizar representações de estudantes universitários estrangeiros a respeito do gênero resumo acadêmico. Essa investigação se apoia em questões pertinentes à escrita acadêmica baseada em gêneros (STREET, 2009), devendo essa ser entendida como prática social, e aos estudos do letramento acadêmico em língua adicional. Para isso, opto por analisar um recorte de uma Unidade Didática, desenvolvida por mim, assim como diários de bordo escritos, produzido pelos estudantes.
