Adolescents with and without ADHD indicators: behavioral profile, stress, self-perception and future expectations

Resumo: | Adolescence is marked by numerous transformations that can be intense for young people who have Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. The new daily demands, associated with the symptoms inherent to the disorder can be stressors and affect the individual's quality of life. This study described the association between the behavioral profile (indicative of ADHD) and the levels of stress, self-perception and expectations for the future, in a sample of 322 adolescents, enrolled in a public high school. Data were collected in the school environment and the following instruments were used: ISD, ETDAH-AD, ESA, SPPA and the ear about expectations for the future. Descriptive analysis, Pearson's chi-square and binary logistic regression were performed. The results indicated that the negative self-perception of adolescents with ADHD indicators is associated with high levels of stress and that social and academic demands can generate mental suffering and reveal that the negative self-perception presented by subjects with ADHD indicators is congruent with high levels of stress revealed in the investigated sample. In addition, the social and academic demands suffered by adolescents who do not have the resources to meet them generate mental suffering that is expressed in the feeling of incapacity, in high levels of stress, in anguish and insecurity about the future. The need for public policies, mainly educational ones, is evident, which can contribute to increasing the transition from school to a pedagogical offer that seeks the difficulties of the public with differentiated educational needs, especially, students with ADHD. |

Las nuevas exigencias cotidianas, asociadas a los síntomas inherentes al trastorno pueden ser estresantes y afectar la calidad de vida del individuo. Este estudio describió la asociación entre el perfil conductual (indicativo de TDAH) y los niveles de estrés, autopercepción y expectativas de futuro, en una muestra de 322 adolescentes, matriculados en una escuela secundaria pública. Se recogieron datos en el ámbito escolar y se utilizaron los siguientes instrumentos: ISD, ETDAH-AD, ESA, SPPA y el oído sobre expectativas de futuro. Se realizaron análisis descriptivos, chi-cuadrado de Pearson y regresión logística binaria. Los resultados indicaron que la autopercepción negativa de los adolescentes con indicadores de TDAH se asocia con altos niveles de estrés y que las exigencias sociales y académicas pueden generar sufrimiento mental y revelan que la autopercepción negativa que presentan los sujetos con indicadores de TDAH es congruente con niveles altos. del estrés revelado en la muestra investigada. Además, las exigencias sociales y académicas que sufren los adolescentes que no cuentan con recursos para afrontarlas generan un sufrimiento mental que se expresa en el sentimiento de incapacidad, en altos niveles de estrés, en angustia e inseguridad sobre el futuro. Es evidente la necesidad de políticas públicas, principalmente educativas, que puedan contribuir a incrementar la transición de la escuela hacia una oferta pedagógica que busque las dificultades del público con necesidades educativas diferenciadas, especialmente, estudiantes con TDAH.A adolescência é marcada por inúmeras transformações que podem ser intensas para jovens que apresentam o Transtorno de Déficit de Atenção/Hiperatividade. As novas demandas do cotidiano, associadas aos sintomas inerentes ao transtorno podem ser agentes estressores e afetar negativamente a qualidade de vida do indivíduo. Este estudo descreveu a associação entre o perfil comportamental (indicativos de tdah) e os níveis de estresse, autopercepção e expectativas de futuro, de uma amostra de 322 adolescentes, matriculados em uma escola pública de ensino médio. Os dados foram coletados no ambiente escolar e utilizou-se os instrumentos: isd, etdah-ad, esa, sppa e o questionário sobre expectativas de futuro. Realizou-se as análises descritivas, qui-quadrado de Pearson e regressão logística binária. Os resultados indicaram que a autopercepção negativa dos adolescentes com indicativos de tdah está associada a altos níveis de estresse e que as demandas sociais e acadêmicas podem gerar sofrimento mental e revelaram que a autopercepção negativa apresentada pelos sujeitos com indicativos de tdah é congruente com os altos níveis de estresse revelados na amostra investigada. Ademais, as demandas sociais e acadêmicas estabelecidas ao adolescente que não dispõe de recursos para atendê-las gera sofrimento mental que se expressa no sentimento de incapacidade, nos altos níveis de estresse, em angústia e insegurança quanto ao futuro.
