Resumo: The brown stink bug, Euschistus heros (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), is the main stink bug species that attacks soybean, a crop in which it promotes losses and increases the production cost with its control. The objective of this work was to evaluate the behavior of nymphs and adults of E. heros in the reproductive period of soybean throughout the day and the effect of behavior modifying compounds on the pattern of movement (or displacement) of the stink bug and on the effectiveness of insecticides on the stink bug. Soy. Article 1 addresses the behavior of large nymphs (N4/N5) and adults of E. heros at different stages of the soybean reproductive phase (R1/R2, R3/R4, R5.2, R5.3 and R6), for means of artificial infestation of insects. The behavior regarding the location in the plant organs (leaf, stem, petiole and legume) in the different thirds, in addition to the behavior regarding rest, feeding activity, movement and copulation, were evaluated. It was found that the behavior of nymphs and adults differs, and they are located mainly in the vegetables of the middle and upper third of the plants, generally presenting rest. Article 2 evaluates the distance covered and the walking speed of E. heros as a function of the application of behavior modifying compounds. Through the application of behavior modifying compounds in the laboratory. Large nymphs (N3/N4/N5) and adults of E. heros were filmed after application of the compounds. The footage was evaluated in a software used to evaluate insect behavior. In which, large nymphs of E. heros showed greater change in distance covered and walking speed than adults. However, further studies are needed in this area to better understand the role of these compounds in the behavior of E. heros.
