The challenges for the consolidation of art and culture in a teaching institution with an agricultural tradition

Resumo: The implementation of artistic and cultural initiatives in educational institutions provides students with an experience that goes beyond academic boundaries. This contributes significantly to the formation of more critical and reflective citizens, promoting a complete education that is fully integrated with the world around them. Thinking about these possibilities, this article aims to analyze the challenges faced by the Instituto Federal Goiano – IF Goiano for the consolidation of culture and discuss possibilities to manage, promote and guarantee the right of access to culture by students, employees and local communities. Throughout the text, we present important points from institutional documents and experiences related to the implementation of art and culture actions developed over the last eight years. Students' narratives highlight the undeniable importance of knowledge in art and culture and the benefits arising from involvement in these activities. However, there is a need for managers to effectively implement the guidelines provided for in institutional regulations and establish collaborations with external actors. In this scenario, the presence and promotion of art and culture emerge as essential elements in the construction of human and citizen education.

Pensando nessas possibilidades, este artigo visa a analisar os desafios enfrentados pelo Instituto Federal Goiano - IF Goiano para a consolidação da cultura e discutir possibilidades para gerir, promover e garantir o direito de acesso à cultura pelos estudantes, servidores e comunidades locais. No decorrer do texto, apresentamos pontos importantes dos documentos institucionais e as experiências que tangem a implementação de ações de arte e cultura desenvolvidas ao longo dos últimos oito anos. As narrativas dos estudantes destacam a inegável importância do conhecimento em arte e cultura, e benefícios decorrentes do envolvimento nessas atividades. No entanto, observa-se a necessidade de os gestores implementarem efetivamente as diretrizes previstas nos regulamentos institucionais e estabelecerem colaborações com atores externos.
