Resumo: | This article focuses two Brazilian songs: “Carolina” (Chico Buarque, 1967) e “Lindoneia” (Caetano Veloso/Gilberto Gil, 1968). From an intertextual and counterpointistic point of view, we suggest that these songs (their lyrics, but also a few of their musical aspects) reveal a tense historical context, a portrait of Brazilian political and cultural conservative modernization after the 1964 coup. keywords: “Carolina”; “Lindoneia”; Brazilian conservative modernizing. |
