Canudos plural: imagens em movimento do sertão em guerra

Este artigo analisa as representações cinematográficas e video-gráficas produzidas durante os centenários de Canudos (1993-1997). Pode-se afirmar que os meios de comunicação de massa se não são os lugares de memória, com certeza são espaços privilegiados no arquivamento e produção da memória contemporânea. Do múltiplo universo audiovisual, optei por analisar as batalhas da memória de Canudos, comparando o filme de Sérgio Rezende (Guerra de Canudos, 1997), que reconstruiu a memória euclidiana da Guerra de Canudos, com os filmes e vídeos de Pola Ribeiro, Antônio Olavo, Cireneu Kuhn, Alejandro Gabriel Miguelez e Otto Guerra, que abordam Canudos por meio da tradição oral. Como um passado que não quer passar, a multiplicidade de visões sobre Canudos configura-se num interessante diálogo entre historiografia e cinematografia na construção narrativa sobre o sertão como metáfora da nacionalidade. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Canudos; historiografia; imagens. ABSTRACT: This article analyzes produced the cinematographic and video representationsduring the centennials of Canudos (1993-1997). It can be affirmed that the media if are not the memory places, with certainty they are privileged spaces in the recording and production of the memory contemporary. Of the multiple audiovisual universe, I opted to analyzing the battles of the memory of Canudos, comparing the film of Sergio Rezende (Canudos War, 1997), that it reconstructed the Euclidean memory of the War of Canudos, with the films and videos of Pola Ribeiro, Antonio Olavo, Cireneu Kuhn, Alejandro Gabriel Miguelez and Otto Guerra, who approach Canudos by oral tradition. As a past that doesn´t want to pass, the multiplicity of view on Canudos configures in an interesting dialogue between historiography and cinematography in the construction narrative on the hinterland as metaphor of the nationality.
