Resumo: The quality of the urban environment is related to the physical, psychological and visual aspects of the landscape. Therefore, the presence of free spaces contending green areas is fundamental for the city because the vegetation is deeply to the improvement and maintenance of the urban ambient quality. Thus, the objective of this study is to survey the life quality expectations of an urban area population, of the south-Southeast sector of the city of João Pessoa. Key-words: life quality, urban dynamics and free spaces.

Sendo assim, é fundamental para a cidade a presença de espaços livres contendo áreas verdes, pois a vegetação está intrinsecamente relacionada à melhoria e manutenção da qualidade ambiental urbana.
