Resumo: The Covid-19 pandemic originated from the new Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the causative agent of the disease called Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019), which emerged in late 2019 in China, having its first confirmed case in the territory of Maranhão on March 20, 2020, internalizing from this period. During this, it seeks to understand the dynamics of the spatial-temporal distribution of Covid-19 in Maranhão territory using Cartography. For this, we use data from the daily bulletins of the State Department of Health (SES/MA) in conjunction with statistical techniques, as well as the use of Cartography with the Geographic Information System (GIS) to map and analyze the process of the spread of SARS-CoV-2 in Maranhão. Thus, the use of these tools is essential to follow the dissemination of Covid-19, to understand the flow and displacement of people, the distribution and access to health services, as well as aspects related to inequality in access to this type of service. Their use assists in the decision-making process by public management, allowing the allocation of resources to minimize the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic in the territory of Maranhão.
