Resumo: Orly Zucatto Mantovani de Assis is a pedagogue and started her career as an elementary school teacher in the municipality of Amparo-SP. During this period, he was interested in understanding what was happening to the students when they showed that they did not retain what they had been told about elementary mathematics. He then devoted himself to studying and deepening development and learning in a Piagetian perspective, having completed his doctorate in 1976 from UNICAMP. Her research proved that a process, named by the Researcher of the Environmental Request Process and characterized by changes in the physical environment of the room, the daily structure of activities, the conduct of the teacher, the way interpersonal relationships are processed and the type of activity and material. offered to the student, favors the child's development in its cognitive, affective, social and psychomotor aspects. This process, called PROEPRE-Preschool Education Program-initially, and laterChildhood and Elementary Education Program, based on Piagetian theory, was implemented in more than twenty State Education Departments and Municipal Education Departments in countless cities of the Federal District, São Paulo, Minas Gerais , Pará, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Piaui. From 1992 onwards, PROEPRE teacher training courses were offered annually by the UNICAMP Extension School, with more than 140 classes to date. Since 1983, Professor Orly has coordinated the Laboratory of Genetic Psychology of the Faculty of Education of UNICAMP and the CNPq research group, having guided over 130 papers between theses, dissertations, course completion and scientific initiation works. It was in 1994, on the occasion of the III International Symposium on Genetic Epistemology, held in Águas de Lindóia-SP and organized by Professor Orly, that Juan Delval was in Brazil for the first time, bringing, at that time, unusual data about his research regarding social knowledge. Professor Orly is currently acting as a teacher of the Graduate Program in Education at UNICAMP and continues to coordinate LPG and PROEPRE teacher training courses.

El profesor Orly actualmente actúa como maestro del Programa de Posgrado en Educación en UNICAMP y continúa coordinando cursos de capacitación de maestros de GLP y PROEPRE.Orly Zucatto Mantovani de Assis é pedagoga e iniciou sua carreira como professora do ensino fundamental no município de Amparo-SP. Durante esse período, interessou-se em compreender o que ocorria com os alunos quando estes demonstravam não reter aquilo que lhesera transmitido, no que se refere à matemática elementar.Passou então a se dedicar ao estudo e aprofundamento sobre o desenvolvimento e a aprendizagem,numa perspectiva piagetiana, tendo concluído seu doutoramento em 1976, pela UNICAMP. Sua investigação provou que um processo, denominado pela pesquisadora de Processo de Solicitação do Meio e caracterizado por mudanças no ambiente físicoda sala, naestrutura diária das atividades, na conduta do professor, na maneira como as relações interpessoais se processam e no tipo de atividade e material oferecido ao aluno, favorece o desenvolvimento da criança em seus aspectos cognitivo, afetivo, social e psicomotor. Esse processo denominadode PROEPRE-Programa de Educação Pré-Escolar-inicialmente, e depoisPrograma de EducaçãoInfantil e Ensino Fundamental, embasado na teoria piagetianafoiimplantadoem mais de vinte Secretarias Estaduais de Educação e Secretarias de Educação Municipais de inúmeras cidades do Distrito Federal, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Pará, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Piauí. De1992em diante,oscursos para formação de professores do PROEPRE passaram a ser oferecidosanualmentepela Escola de Extensão da UNICAMP, com mais de 140 turmas até a atualidade. Desde 1983, a professora Orly coordena o Laboratório de Psicologia Genética da Faculdade de Educação da UNICAMP e grupo de pesquisa do CNPq,tendo orientado mais de 130 trabalhos entre teses, dissertações, trabalhos de conclusão de curso e de iniciaçãocientífica.
