Pesquisa científica na graduação: um estudo das vertentes temáticas e metodológicas dos trabalhos de conclusão de curso

During higher education the student should not only learn to accumulate knowledge, but should also be encouraged to train with a critical sense, to build knowledge both for himself and for the society in which he is inserted. Thus, it was sought to investigate how has been the scientific research in the undergraduate degree in Accounting Sciences of the FACIP / UFU, through the academic production resulting from Works of Conclusion of Course (TCCs). The objective of the research was to delineate the thematic and methodological characteristics of the scientific production of students of this course through the TCCs presented in the period from 2011 to 2017, whose population was formed by 126 TCCs presented and approved by Defense Banking. The research characterizes the objectives as descriptive, quantitative approach to the problem and documentary, bibliographic and bibliometric in relation to its procedures. The data collection was done through the technique of Documentary Research. We used the techniques of Content Analysis and Descriptive Statistics for Data Analysis. The main results were: the thematic area with the highest concentration of works was the thematic area Controllership and Management Accounting, with 39% of the total; of the frequency of guidance by teachers it was verified that a single teacher has 33 orientations that corresponds to 26.19% of the total and in relation to the Methodological Procedures it was verified that regarding the objectives, descriptive research was the most used (50%); Regarding the problem approach, qualitative research was the most used (47.62%); As for the research strategy, bibliographic research appears in 100% of CBTs, followed by documental research that appears in 63.49%. Among the most used data collection techniques was the Document Analysis (60.32% of the works), among the Data Analysis Techniques, the most used in the CBTs studied were Descriptive Statistics and Content Analysis (68.0 and 66.0% respectively).
