The textile sector stands out in Brazil as a fundamental cult segment, as it promotes a series of advantages for the country in terms of generating formal jobs and adding value to the Gross Domestic Product. In this scenario, in order to remain competitive in the market, companies in this segment can use lean tools to reduce costs and waste, improve processes and provide higher quality products and services. Given the above, the objective of this work is to apply value stream mapping (VFM) to analyze the production process of a small textile company, and propose the implementation of lean tools in order to reduce losses. As for the approach to the problem, the research is qualitative and quantitative, and the procedure is a case study. The results assessed from the MFV as the main losses identified were transportation, in-process inventory and waiting, waste that can impact the cycle time of operations. In this sense, for cleaning and quality transmission activities, and travetar passing through, the application of the jidoka element was proposed. For the other activities, the application of 5S was proposed, in order to provide a global improvement of the system.
