The market is increasingly competitive and customer requirements have become a constant concern for companies. Therefore, it is important that organizations are ready to develop new strategies to meet the requirements of their consumers. Therefore, one of the main points for an organization to stand out in the market is the commitment to deliver the final product to its customers on time, without excess or lack of raw materials and in-process inventory. Among the production planning and control tools, the Material Requirement Planning (MPR) stands out, responsible for defining all the needs for parts and components of a given final product. In this context, the present work aims to propose the implementation of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) in a small technology company, in order to identify how this tool can help to improve planning and production control and inventory management. As for the methodological procedure, the case study was developed in four stages, namely: choice of product and construction of its analytical structure; survey of demand in the studied period and definition of input parameters; calculation of material needs; Issuance of purchase and production orders. The results showed that with the application of MRP, the company's material planning can be improved, meeting the demand within the agreed period and reducing inventory levels.
