Environmental contamination in public places, such as squares, parks and beaches, by parasites with zoonotic potential is characterized as a serious public health problem that plagues our country as a whole and several countries in the world. The parasites, found mainly in the feces of dogs and cats and humans, cause intestinal diseases, called intestinal parasites, which are most often related to chronic diarrhea and malnutrition, affecting the psychosomatic development of children. With this, the present work aimed for carrying out a bibliographic survey, between the years 2012 and 2022, on the subject, using the Google Scholar, PubMed and Scielo databases, through the combination of several descriptors correlated to the theme. Different works published in this period were found, the main ones being carried out in Brazil. Knowing about the impact of environmental contamination on public health makes it important to survey data already collected and described in regions similar to the municipality of Ituiutaba, MG, where a considerable prevalence of intestinal parasites of zoonotic nature was detected in the soil of public places.
