The evolution of society and technological advancements enabled the creation of new business models, such as startups. These organizations are present in the most varied places, and, in Brazil, an ecosystem that has been highlighted in Uberlândia. The objective of this search is to analyze the profile and entrepreneurial competencies of the startup managers of the Uberlândia ecosystem. A survey was conduced using a self-administered questionnaire that identifies the profile of startups, of the managers and their entrepreneurial skills. The results found that the main area of activity is innovation and technology (37.9%), a large majority was created in 2018 (27.6%), 41.4% are in the validation phase, 48.3% still have no revenue and 65.5% of them have management time composed of 2-5 entrepreneurs. Most of these professionals are male (86%), white (69%), single (48.3%), 31-40 years old (37.9%), who stated they belong to class A (31%) and Class C (31%). The main business skills were: persistence (90%), commitment (83%) and opportunity seeking (72%). Finally, conclude that Uberlandian startups have a lot of potential, although they are still in the validation stage, and it can be observed there is a shortage of managers' administrative skills to apply to their business.
