Resumo: The present work presents an overview of digital image processing techniques applied in the analysis of histological and histopathological images. Thus, as in other areas of biomedical imaging, many digital image processing techniques have been implemented to assist histopathologists, researchers and clinicians. These techniques aim to significantly reduce the work time and the subjectivity of the analysis. The task of automated analysis of histological images is generally not straightforward due to the unique characteristics of a histological image, including variability in image preparation techniques, presence of complex structures, different clinical interpretation protocols, and extensive file size. image.
