Resumo: Two experiments were accomplished in the section of Aviculture of the Department of Zootecnia of the Federal University of Viçosa, in order to evaluate the energy values and of digestible amino acids of some feedstuffs for chickens. In the first experiment objectified the determination of the values of metabolizable apparent energy (AME) and apparent metabolizable energy corrected by balance of nitrogen (AMEn), besides the determination of the chemical composition of the feedstuffs: Sunflower meal, of bean meal, of bread meal, of pasta meal, of cookie meal, flour stharc babassu, flour of meat and bones, pie of babassu, corn gluten and milet. The traditional method of collection was used of excrete with chicks, in the period from 14 to 24 days of age. A completely randomized experimental design was used, with eleven treatments, six repetitions with six birds each. Each food substituted the ration reference in the levels of 15 or of 40%, depending on the food type. The broilers were housed in metallic batteries with trays for collection of the excrete. The values of EMAn (Kcal/kg) in the natural matter of the foods they were: For the of babassu meal 1116; for the sunflower meal 1607; for the gluten of corn meal 3826; for the flour stharc babassu 1731; for the meat flour and bones 2524; for the bean 693; for the milet 3046; for the of cookie residue 3351; for the of pasta residue 3543 and for the of bread residue 3494. In the second experiment it was aimed at to determine the digestibility coefficients and the values of true digestible amino acids of the same foods, mentioned above. The method of forced feeding was used with roosters Leghorn adults cecectomized. The roosters were housed individually in metallic batteries with trays collection of you excrete. A completely randomized experimental design was used, in which each treatment was composed by six repetitions and a rooster by experimental unit. The medium values of the coefficients of true digestibility of the essential amino acids and no essential in percentage they were respectively: For the of babassu meal: 70 and 65; for the sunflower meal: 85 and 79; for the corn gluten meal: 93 and 89; for the meat flour and bones: 80 and 72; for the bean: 36 and 34; for the milet: 92 and 84; for the cookie residue: 84 and 81; for the pasta residue: 93 and 91and for the bread residue: 91 and 90 and for the flour stharc babassu it was not determinate.

No primeiro experimento objetivou-se a determinação dos valores de energia metabolizável aparente (EMA) e energia metabolizável aparente corrigida pelo balanço de nitrogênio (EMAn), além da determinação da composição química dos alimentos: Farelos de babaçu, de girassol e de glúten de milho; farinhas amilácea de babaçu e de carne e ossos; feijão cru; milheto; resíduos de biscoito, de macarrão e de pão. Foi utilizado o método tradicional de coleta de excretas com pintos de corte no período de 14 a 24 dias de idade. Distribuídos em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com onze tratamentos, seis repetições com seis aves cada. Cada alimento substituiu a ração referência nos níveis de 15 ou de 40%, dependendo do tipo de alimento. Os pintos foram alojados em baterias metálicas equipadas com bandejas para coleta das excretas. Os valores de EMAn (Kcal/kg) na matéria natural dos alimentos foram: Para o farelo de babaçu 1116; para o farelo de girassol 1607; para o farelo de glúten de milho 3826; para a farinha amilácea de babaçu 1731; para a farinha de carne e ossos 2524; para o feijão cru 693; para o milheto moído 3046; para o resíduo de biscoito 3351; para o resíduo de macarrão 3543 e para o resíduo de pão 3494. No segundo experimento objetivou-se determinar os coeficientes de digestibilidade e os valores de aminoácidos digestíveis verdadeiros dos mesmos alimentos, citados anteriormente. Utilizou-se o método de alimentação forçada com galos Leghorn adultos cecectomizados. Os galos foram alojados individualmente em baterias metálicas equipadas com bandejas coletoras. Foi utilizado o delineamento inteiramente casualizado, no qual cada tratamento foi composto por seis repetições e um galo por unidade experimental.
