Thus, documenting certain proteins expressed in sepsis is a promising approach to elucidate pathophysiological, diagnostic, therapeutic, and prognostic aspects in this condition with a purpose of applying them to clinical practice. Although the studies are still preliminary, proteomics may offer good benefits for the better management of septic patients.
