O entendimento da influência de tais alterações sobre o comportamento motor é fundamental para a elaboração de estratégias terapêuticas no processo de reabilitação. Este trabalho tem por objetivo avaliar a aplicabilidade da Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) para indivíduos com EM. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo longitudinal retrospectivo, onde foram analisados 38 protuários de indivíduos com EM, que foram divididos em 3 grupo (Leve, Moderado e Grave) e em grupos de intervenções de Prática Física 1, Prática Físca 3 e Prática + Mental. Foram analisados os dados da MoCA antes e após as intervenções, juntamente com dados clínico demográficos e da EDSS, e realizada análise de responsividade da escala. A análise de dados foi realizada por meio de análise de variância ANOVA, considerando p = 0,05, a análise de responsividade foi realizada por porcentagem de melhora. Resultados: Não houve diferença significativa entre grupos para caracterização das alterações cognitivas, assim como foi encontrado correlação fraca da EDSS com os escore total da MoCA. Houveram melhoras nas pontuações e escores da MoCA após as intervenções de fisioterapia para as diferentes intervenções. Discussão: A análise dos resultados sugere que as alterações cognitivas nos indivíduos com Esclerose Múltipla podem estar presentes desde o início da doença, não tendo relação com a idade nem com a cronicidade da doença. Podendo se apresentar de diferentes formas a depender do indívido, não seguindo um padrão. As alterações nos escores da MoCA após as intervenções surgerem que a escala é capaz de detectar mudaças no perfil cognitivo dos indivíduos após diferentes intervenções de fisioterapia. The understanding of its nature on motor behavior is fundamental for the elaboration of therapeutic goals without rehabilitation process. This study aims to evaluate the applicability of Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) to individuals with MS. Methods: This was a retrospective longitudinal study, in which 38 records of individuals diagnosed with MS were divided into three groups (Light, Moderate and Severe) and in groups of interventions of Physical Practice 1, Physical Practice 3 and Practice + Mental. MoCA data were analyzed before and after the interventions, along with demographic and EDSS clinical data. Data analysis was performed using analysis of variance ANOVA, considering p = 0.05, the responsiveness analysis was performed by percentage of improvement. Results: There was no significant difference between groups for the characterization of cognitive changes, as well as a weak correlation of EDSS with the total MoCA score. There were improvements in the scores and in the total of the MoCA after the interventions of physiotherapy for the different interventions. Discussion: Analysis of the results suggests that cognitive changes in individuals with Multiple Sclerosis may be present from the beginning of the disease, having no relation to the age or the chronicity of the disease. It can appear in different ways depending on the individual, not following a pattern. Changes in the MoCA scores after the interventions show that the scale is able to detect changes in the cognitive profile of individuals after different physiotherapy interventions.
