SIGNS OF IDENTITY CONFLICTS OBTAINED BY PROJECTIVE TECHNIQUES

Resumo: The objective of the present study was to determine theidentity conflicts revealed by the projective techniques HTP, Pfister,Rorschach and Desiderative applied to ten adult male and femalepatients from the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic of the UniversityHospital, Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, USP, who exhibitedclinical signs of identity conflicts expressed as sexual and familyproblems and as difficulties in relating to others, with signs of impairedself-esteem. The protocols for each technique were first evaluated, withemphasis on indices corresponding to identity conflicts, and later definedand systematized. The systematization of the indices detected with a combinationof the four techniques permitted the delimitation of the signs of identityconflicts linked to self-image expressed as emotional immaturity, withdrawal from reality, and difficulty in controlling impulses, withbetter elucidation of the dynamic diagnosis through the understandingof the level of impairment, as an adjunctive resource to treatmentthrough brief psychotherapy.

The systematization of the indices detected with a combinationof the four techniques permitted the delimitation of the signs of identityconflicts linked to self-image expressed as emotional immaturity, withdrawal from reality, and difficulty in controlling impulses, withbetter elucidation of the dynamic diagnosis through the understandingof the level of impairment, as an adjunctive resource to treatmentthrough brief psychotherapy.RESUMO - Objetivou-se, neste estudo, o levantamento dos índices de conflito de identidade, através das seguintes técnicas projetivas: HTP, Pfister, Rorschach e Desiderativo, aplicadas a dez pacientes adultos, de ambos os sexos provenientes do Ambulatório de Clínica Psiquiátrica do HCFMRP - USP, que apresentavam clinicamente sinais de conflito de identidade, expressos por dificuldades sexuais, familiares e de relacionamento, com indícios de comprometimento de auto-estima. Inicialmente procedeu-se à avaliação dos protocolos de cada uma das técnicas, destacando-se os índices correspondentes aos conflitos de identidade. Posteriormente, efetuou-se a definição e sistematização dos mesmos.
