Sexual health of lesbian and/or bisexual woman: specificities for health care and sex education

Resumo: | The production of knowledge about the sexual health of lesbian and/or bisexual women is scarce, in order to collaborate to keep this social group exposed and at risk of transmitting Sexually Transmissible Infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS. This reality has prompted us to conduct this review article on the sexual health of women who have sex with women (WSW). This is an integrative review in the Scopus, Cinahl, Lilacs and Scielo databases. The 16 articles found generally investigate: (1) WSW knowledge of STI and HIV/Aids transmission, (2) WSW sexual behaviors, and (3) Particularities in the health care of lesbian and/or bisexual women. The articles reveal the need to invest in public health policies, as well as in the qualification of professionals in sex education in order to provide information and guidelines focused on specific strategies to prevent STIs and HIV/AIDS. |

Esta realidad nos instigó a realizar este artículo de revisión sobre la salud sexual de las mujeres que tienen sexo con mujeres (MSM). Se trata de una revisión integrativa en las bases de datos Scopus, Cinahl, Lilacs y Scielo. 16 Artículos encontrados, en general, investigan: (1) El conocimiento de MSM como la transmisión de enfermedades de transmisión sexual y el VIH/SIDA, (2) los comportamientos sexuales de MSM e (3) Especificidades en el cuidado de la salud de la mujer lesbiana y/o bisexual. Los artículos desvelan la necesidad de invertir en políticas de salud pública, así como en la calificación de profesionales en educación sexual para viabilizar informaciones y orientaciones enfocadas en estrategias específicas de prevención a las IST y VIH/SIDA.A produção do conhecimento quanto à saúde sexual de mulheres lésbicas e/ou bissexuais é escasso, de modo a colaborar para manter esse grupo social exposto e em risco de contágio às Infecções Sexualmente Transmissíveis (IST) e ao HIV/Aids. Essa realidade nos instigou a realizar este artigo de revisão acerca da saúde sexual das mulheres que fazem sexo com mulheres (MSM). Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa nas bases de dados Scopus, Cinahl, Lilacs e Scielo. Os 16 artigos encontrados, de um modo geral, investigam: (1) Conhecimento de MSM quanto à transmissão das IST e HIV/Aids, (2) Comportamentos sexuais de MSM e (3) Especificidades no Cuidados à saúde da mulher lésbica e/ou bissexual.
