Helena Antipoff - educator ruralist: building a personal collection and his Relevance to education today

This paper was carried out as a reflection on Helena Antipoff’s personal and professional career (1892-1974), linked to her belief that the intervention and transformation of reality depend on the accumulation of knowledge, on the acquisition of experience, and on her intention to foster the sharing of the commonwealth, agents which, based on such a triangulation, are capable of building up personal assets. Structure based mostly on practices and actions rather than on the intention to work out assets, but which ended by producing the structure of a memory, linked to the development of the “Center of Documentation and Research Helena Antipoff” – Ibirité – MG. She was born in Russia and while she lived in Brazil from 1929 to1974, Helena Antipoff stood out due to her socially relevant actions based on the organization of study and research in the fields of psychology, education and rural education, and the last two activities are the subjects broached in our documentary research and analysis.
