Metodological assumption of populism

The present work seeks to investigate the concept of populism by chasinean analysis that conceives it as an ideal type. Constructed through a broad temporal process, which starts from preoccupations with the particularity of the capitalist modernization of class relations in Latin America, the concept will find in Francisco Weffort a systematization that will consolidate it as an individual grouping that is highlighted by the values ??of the researcher, as Weber points out. Thus, the criticism of the methodological root perceives that the concept is located within the liberal horizon, since its analyzes determine the reality by the antinomy between civil society and State, where the populism, irrational for not being conformed by the classic intermediary institutions of democracy liberal, is seen as worship of the charismatic and demagogic power of the state leader.
