Resumo: Os acontecimentos dos últimos dez a quinze anos na França são expressivos quando se pretenda xaminar o papel da classe operária nas lutas sociais em um grande país contemporâneo e, ao mesmo tempo, os limites e travas que aquela classe enfrenta para tornar-se hegemônica politicamente.
