Resumo: The aim of this study is to analyze the productions derived from scientific articles about dance as knowledge treated by the area of physical education, with the intention of identify its main themes of study. It is a research of quantitative approach, of the documentary type, that takes as a source the productions on dance and physical education made available in the national newspapers. Identified that the dance possesses diverse possibilities of themes of studies, but is in the education that she gains greater prominence, followed by topics that discuss about dance with possibility of movement, motor performance and physical activity.

Se trata de una investigación de abordaje cuantitativo, del tipo documental, que toma como fuente las producciones sobre danza y educación física disponible en los periódicos nacionales. Se percibe que la danza tiene diversas posibilidades de temáticas de estudios, pero es en la educación que ella gana mayor destaque, seguido de las temáticas que discuten sobre danza como posibilidad de movimiento, desempeño motor y actividad física.O estudo objetiva analisar artigos científicos sobre a dança como conhecimento tratado pela área de educação física, tendo como intenção identificar as suas principais temáticas de estudo. Trata-se de pesquisa de abordagem quantiqualitativa, do tipo documental, que toma como fonte as produções sobre dança e educação física disponíveis nos periódicos nacionais.
