Resumo: | The present work tells the results of a study which investigated conceptions anddifficulties of academics from the Normal Superior Course regarding the geometry teaching in theinitial series of the fundamental teaching. The data were collected by observations and applicationof a questionnaire during the accomplishment of a minicourse that involved activities related tothree-dimensional objects and two-dimensional illustrations. The questionnaire was subdivide in two moments: the first sought to verify the attributed importance, given by the participants, to themathematical contents supplied in the fundamental teaching and the second had the purpose ofidentifying the participants' conceptions and the difficulties regarding the differentiation betweensolids and plane illustrations. The data revealed that the academics' difficulties, in geometry, arerelated as much to the nomination and representation in the plan of three-dimensional objects as tothe differentiation between solids and plane illustrations. |

O presente trabalho relata os resultados de um estudo que investigou concepções e dificuldades de acadêmicos do Curso Normal Superior a respeito do ensino de Geometria nas séries iniciais do Ensino Fundamental. Os dados foram coletados mediante observações e aplicação de um questionário durante a realização de um minicurso que envolvia atividades relacionadas a figuras geométricas planas e não-planas. O questionário foi subdivido em dois momentos: o primeiro visava verificar a importância atribuída, pelos participantes, aos conteúdos matemáticos ministrados no Ensino Fundamental e o segundo tinha o propósito de identificar as concepções e dificuldades dos participantes a respeito da diferenciação entre figuras planas e não-planas.
