Between yellow and blue: the history of a journey

Resumo: This text presents a discursive path of analysis that makes the “material composition” its anchor point, worked out through the relation between the cover and the tales of the book The thing around your neck (No seu pescoço – in the Brazilian edition), by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Returning to Michel Pêcheux's founding concepts, the path presented here delineates theoretical-analytical relations that show the power of the reading device conceived by the author, in its developments proposed by Eni Orlandi. Highlighting the primacy of the gesture of description, I proceed to discursive delinearization in the “imbrication of the different significant materialities”, thus reaching the functioning of the “symbolic resistance”, marked in different contrasts through the materially distinct significant elements.

Retomando conceitos fundantes de Michel Pêcheux, o percurso aqui apresentado vai delineando relações teóricoanalíticas que mostram a potência do dispositivo de leitura concebido pelo autor, em seus desdobramentos propostos por Eni Orlandi. Ressaltando o primado do gesto de descrição, vou procedendo à deslinearização discursiva na “imbricação das diferentes materialidades significantes” e chego ao funcionamento da “resistência simbólica”, marcada em contrastes diversos por meio dos elementos significantes materialmente distintos.
