Resumo: The expansion of secondary education in the state of Paraná (between 1942 and 1961) is the object of analysis in this paper.During the period in which MoysésLupion (1947-1951 and 1956-1961) and Bento Munhoz da Rocha Neto (1951-1955) oversaw Paraná’s public administration, there was the (re)occupation of the territory and the creation of new municipalities, permeated for the discourse of progress and modernization.This bibliographic-documental research analyzes a diversity of documents.You can see the contrast of Paraná in relation to the other federal units, because in 1955 it was the only one that surpassed the number of private schools, offering more public secondary education and it did it in two fronts:especially, with the creation of junior high school courses and the transformation of municipal gyms into state ones.

Durante el período en el que Moysés Lupion (1947-1951 y 1956-1961) y Bento Munhoz da Rocha Neto (1951-1955) estuvieron a cargo de la administración pública de Paraná, se produjo la (re) ocupación del territorio y la creación de nuevos municipios, impregnados para el discurso del progreso y la modernización. Esta investigación bibliográfico-documental analiza una diversidad de documentos. Se puede ver el contraste de Paraná en relación con las demás unidades federales, pues en 1955 fue la única que superó el número de escuelas privadas, ofreciendo más educación secundaria pública y lo hizo en dos frentes: especialmente con la creación de cursos de secundaria y la transformación de gimnasios municipales en estatales.A expansão do ensino secundário no estado do Paraná (entre 1942 e 1961) é o objeto de análise deste escrito.No período em que Moysés Lupion (1947-1951 e 1956-1961) e Bento Munhoz da Rocha Neto (1951-1955) estiveram à frente da administração pública paranaense ocorreram a (re)ocupação do território e a criação de novos municípios, permeado pelo discurso de progresso e modernização. Esta pesquisa de cunho bibliográfico-documental analisa uma diversidade de documentos.
