Resumo: Brasilia, Brazil’s Capital, has its origin associated to a narrative supported by an amalgam of facts and social, economic and symbolical elements. In this paper we analyse the role played by the construction of the patrimonial discourse applied to three buildings that are classified as heritage by the local government: Catetinho, Pedra Fundamental de Planaltina and Casa da Fazenda Gama. Those three assets have in common the fact that they use different arguments to designate themselves as the Beginning of Brasilia. We examine how this idea is treated in each case and, in the end, we conclude that even if there are opposing objectives surrounding each narrative, they tend to be complementary, because they all want to praise the monumentality of Brasilia, even though supported by a non-monumental patrimony.
