Resumo: Among the most aggressive neoplasms and with the worst prognosis is pancreatic canter (PC) if its discovery is in an advanced stage, directly impacting the patient’s quality of life. The objective of the study was to perform a systematic data collection, reflexive analysis and updates regarding PC-related diagnostic and treatment techiniques. From the data search, 116 studies were identified within the selected databases. Such studies followed a screening through inclusion and exclusion criteria that at the end of the process, 50 studies were selected that were of good methodological quality and served as scope for the meta-analysis referring to the current criteria of PC. The study demonstraded that despit the oncological research achieving expressive results regarding the cure and quality of life of cancer patients, this efficacy has not yet been obtained in the PC, and even with the addiction of new drugs to the therapeutic regimen, the use of neoaduvant and adjuvant therapies in conjunction with surgery and also new regimens for recurrences of this specific type of cancer, have not yet achieved significant results in the life expectancy of patientes. However, there was a brief evolution in the patient’s quality of life, mainly in the inclusion of palliative methods. In this way, it is concluded that the low efficacy of curative therapies and the high rate of early PC recurrence makes it difficult to maintain a quality of life, however palliative methods are effective in some cases in controlling the symptoms that the cancer and therapies bring with them.
