Resumo: This scientific work aimed to enter efficiently the game of chess as a teaching resource in the learning process of the Cartesian coordinate content in a class of 7th grade of elementary school, specifically in order to analyze and identify such a strategy to better learning content in the classroom. The methodology of the study was collected through a quantitative, qualitative descriptive research, the methodological procedures were developed from a systematic education in an attempt to integrate theory and practice, in the form of knowledge intervention in a public school in the city of Gravatá/PE. The results showed that the use of chess through a process of teaching and learning can promote meaningful learning, ie, the use of teaching resources is of paramount importance to establish this interaction between student / teacher for the subject with the be addressed.

La metodología del referido estudio se realizó a través de una investigación cuantitativa, cualitativa y descriptiva, los procedimientos metodológicos se desarrollaron a partir de una sistematización de la enseñanza en un intento de integrar la teoría y la práctica, en forma de intervención del conocimiento en una escuela pública de la ciudad. Gravatá / PE. Los resultados señalaron que el uso del juego de ajedrez a través de un proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje puede promover un aprendizaje significativo, es decir, el uso de recursos didácticos es de fundamental importancia para el establecimiento de esta interacción entre el alumno / profesor con el tema a estudiar.Este trabalho científico teve como principal objetivo inserir de uma forma eficiente o jogo de xadrez como recurso didático no processo ensino aprendizagem do conteúdo coordenadas cartesianas em uma turma do 7º ano do Ensino Fundamental, especificamente tendo em vista analisar e identificar tal estratégia para melhor aprendizado do conteúdo em sala de aula. A metodologia do referido estudo se deu através de uma pesquisa quantitativa, qualitativa de forma descritiva, os procedimentos metodológicos foram desenvolvidos a partir de uma sistematização de ensino na tentativa de integrar teoria e prática, em forma de intervenção do conhecimento em uma escola pública do município de Gravatá/PE.
