Panorama on spirituality and health: what scientific literature has pointed out about the topic in the last 5 years?

Resumo: The present work aims to review the panorama of studies related to spirituality and health published in the last 5 years (2015 - 2019), in addition to synthesizing and discussing the main conclusions about the theme. The integrative review was used for data collection and analysis using the Scientific Eletronic Library Online platform - SCIELO, the descriptors "health" and "spirituality" were used, including articles published in the Portuguese, totaling 14. Five categories emerged from the categorization process: spirituality and mental health; spirituality and palliative care; spirituality as a discipline in health care courses; spirituality and workplace; and spirituality and integrative and complementary health practices. Spirituality has stood out as a positive and protective factor in mental health and palliative care, and as a positive factor to be deepened in health courses and encouraged in the workplace.

Se utilizó una revisión integral para el levantamiento y análisis de datos mediante una plataforma Scientific Eletronic Library Online - SCIELO, se utilizó las palabras clave “salud” y “espiritualidad”, incluyendo artículos publicados en portugués, totalizando 14. Cinco categorías emergieron: espiritualidad y salud mental; espiritualidad y cuidados paliativos; espiritualidad como disciplina en los cursos del área de la salud; espiritualidad y local de trabajo; y espiritualidad y las prácticas integrativas y complementarias en salud. La espiritualidad se destacó como un factor positivo y un factor protector en la salud mental y cuidados paliativos, y como un factor positivo para ser actualizado en los cursos de salud y el incentivo de los lugares de trabajo.O presente trabalho visa realizar uma revisão sobre o panorama dos estudos relacionados à espiritualidade e saúde publicado nos últimos 5 anos (2015 - 2019), além de sintetizar e discutir as principais conclusões acerca do tema. Foi utilizado a revisão integrativa para levantamento e análise de dados utilizando a plataforma Scientific Eletronic Library Online – SCIELO, utilizando-se os descritores “saúde” e “espiritualidade”, incluindo ao artigos publicados em português, totalizando 14. Cinco categorias emergiram: espiritualidade e saúde mental; espiritualidade e cuidados paliativos; espiritualidade como disciplina em cursos da área da saúde; espiritualidade e local de trabalho; e espiritualidade e práticas integrativas e complementares em saúde.
