Resumo: This article aims to analyze the profile of Northern individuals riograndenses that even after retirement, remain active in the labor market. For this purpose, we carried out a study of descriptive and exploratory. The data were obtained from the Census of 2000 and the study population were individuals living in Rio Grande do Norte, which were provided by retired General Social Security (RGPS). Initially we conducted a descriptive analysis of the data in order to verify possible correlations between existing variables. Thereafter, it proceeded to construct logistic regression models for modeling relationships between the highest correlation variables. The main results of the retiree's profile was found: male (69.9%), married (63.2%), white (46.3%) live in urban areas (81.1%). Regarding the variables that had greater chances of the individual being in retired status are living in the Central Region (OR = 1,219) or East RN (OR = 1.348), male gender (OR = 1.255), reside in the urban area (OR = 1.759), age between 52 and 60 years (OR = 8,798), between 61 and 67 years (OR = 2,447), above 68 years (OR = 1.151), retirement income or pension below the minimum wage (OR = 222.260) and retirement income or pension above a minimum wage (OR = 1,750). This type of study is becoming increasingly important, since the Brazilian's life expectancy is growing, making this population increase and require greater demand for quality of life.

This type of study is becoming increasingly important, since the Brazilian's life expectancy is growing, making this population increase and require greater demand for quality of life.
