Resumo: This article addresses the discussion about the instruction and learning of Mathematics in the Brazilian educational context, referring to the learning of students of the 3rd year of High School. The research question was how do you design and teach mathematics in high school? Based on this question, it was justified to diagnose the students' learning about the theme. The objective was to make a diagnosis of the teaching-learning process of Mathematics in students from the 2nd year of High School, specifically students enrolled in the 3rd year of High School. To check the students' learning we used 1 research instruments that was a questionnaire. The research was carried out with 100 high school students and the information collected was analyzed from 3 categories, which are: the social profile; methodological impressions of teaching and the assessment of learning, which made it possible to understand the subject in question under the direction that this research followed. In view of the results obtained, we can learn more about the social characteristics of students and the teaching methodology used by teachers, which in some way can influence the learning methodology and the evaluative results of students.

La pregunta de investigación fue ¿cómo diseñas y enseñas matemáticas en la escuela secundaria? Con base en esta pregunta, se justificó diagnosticar el aprendizaje de los estudiantes sobre el tema. El objetivo fue realizar un diagnóstico del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de las Matemáticas en estudiantes de 2º año de Bachillerato, en concreto estudiantes matriculados en 3º de Bachillerato. Para comprobar el aprendizaje de los estudiantes se utilizó 1 instrumento de investigación que fue un cuestionario. La investigación se realizó con 100 estudiantes de secundaria y la información recolectada se analizó en 3 categorías, las cuales son: el perfil social; impresiones metodológicas de la enseñanza y la evaluación del aprendizaje, que permitieron comprender el tema en cuestión bajo la dirección que siguió esta investigación. A la vista de los resultados obtenidos, podemos conocer más sobre las características sociales de los estudiantes y la metodología de enseñanza utilizada por los docentes, que de alguna manera pueden influir en la metodología de aprendizaje y los resultados evaluativos de los estudiantes.Esse artigo aborda a discussão acerca da instrução e aprendizagem de Matemática no contexto educacional brasileiro, referente ao aprendizado dos alunos do 3° ano do Ensino Médio. A questão de pesquisa foi como se designa o ensino e aprendizagem de Matemática no ensino médio? Com base nessa questão, justificou-se diagnosticar a aprendizagem dos educandos a respeito do tema. Objetivo foi realizar um diagnóstico do processo de ensino-aprendizagem da Matemática em discentes oriundos do 2ª ano do Ensino Médio, especificamente alunos matriculados no 3º ano do Ensino Médio. Para verificar a aprendizagem dos estudantes utilizamos 1 instrumentos de pesquisa que foi um questionário. A pesquisa foi realizada com 100 alunos do ensino médio e as informações coletadas foram analisadas a partir de 3 categorias, sendo elas: o perfil social; impressões metodológicas do ensino e a avaliação da aprendizagem, as quais possibilitaram o entendimento sobre o assunto em questão sob o direcionamento que essa pesquisa seguiu.
