Analysis of density learning of matters in an investigative classroom in Fundamental Teaching

Resumo: The Density content of the subject is taught in the 9th grade of Elementary School to introduce young students to the chemistry discipline, presenting the main properties present in all subjects, such as mass and volume. By referring to relatively new content for students, the investigative methodology can be a way to engage them in the learning process. The present article had as objective to analyze the process of construction of knowledge related to the concept of density of matter, in addition to reflecting on procedural learning enhanced by a class based on research teaching. Because it's a student-centered approach, the methodology of research teaching makes the educational process more participatory and dialogic, providing students with the construction of scientific knowledge. Of qualitative nature, this proposal was developed from an activity applied in a class of elementary education II, in the city of Londrina, PR. It was proposed to the students the development and the dissemination of the content explored through descriptive reports of the activity. The results show that the investigative activity favored the learning of the concepts of the density of matter, in addition to presenting evidence of procedural learning during the educational process, which allows us to recommend this teaching methodology to the development of the protagonism of the student in the construction of his knowledge.

Al referirse a un contenido relativamente nuevo para los estudiantes, la metodología de investigación puede ser una forma de involucrarlos en el proceso de aprendizaje. Este artículo tenía como objetivo analizar el proceso de construcción del conocimiento relacionado con el concepto de densidad de sujetos, además de reflexionar sobre el aprendizaje procedimental potenciado por una clase basada en la enseñanza por la investigación. Al ser un enfoque centrado en el estudiante, la enseñanza mediante la metodología de investigación hace que el proceso educativo sea más participativo y dialógico, proporcionando a los estudiantes la construcción del conocimiento científico.  De carácter cualitativo, esta propuesta fue desarrollada a partir de una actividad aplicada en una clase de la Escuela Primaria II, en la ciudad de Londrina, PR. Se propuso a los estudiantes el desarrollo y la difusión del contenido explorado mediante informes descriptivos de la actividad. Los resultados muestran que la actividad investigadora favoreció el aprendizaje de los conceptos de densidad de materias, además de presentar evidencias de aprendizaje procedimental durante el proceso educativo, lo que nos permite recomendar esta metodología de enseñanza en vista del desarrollo del protagonismo del estudiante en la construcción de su conocimiento.O conteúdo de Densidade da matéria é ministrado no 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental com o intuito de introduzir os jovens estudantes na disciplina de química, apresentando as principais propriedades presente em toda matéria, como massa e volume. Por referir-se a um conteúdo relativamente novo para os estudantes, a metodologia investigativa pode ser uma forma de engajá-los no processo de aprendizagem. O presente artigo teve como objetivo analisar o processo de construção de conhecimentos relativos ao conceito de densidade da matéria, além de refletir sobre a aprendizagem procedimental potencializada por uma aula baseada no ensino por investigação. Por ser uma abordagem centrada no estudante, a metodologia de ensino por investigação torna o processo educativo mais participativo e dialógico, propiciando aos estudantes a construção do conhecimento científico.  De natureza qualitativa, esta proposta foi desenvolvida a partir de uma atividade aplicada em uma turma do Ensino Fundamental II, na cidade de Londrina, PR. Propôs-se aos estudantes o desenvolvimento e a divulgação do conteúdo explorado mediante relatórios descritivos da atividade.
