The ethnic-racial dimension of the Human Right to Adequate Food

Resumo: The aim of this article is a literature review about the Human Right to Adequate Food content from an analysis of its ethnic-racial dimension. This review was part on first author’s master’s dissertation, in Post-graduation Program in Sustainable Rural Development, from The Western Paraná State University - Unioeste. For this purpose, a contextualization of the Human Right to Adequate Food was presented, and then the research presents the importance of an ethnic-racial dimension of this right for its full realization. It was concluded that indigenous peoples, Traditional People and Communities and the black population are the population groups most vulnerable to Food and Nutritional Insecurity and to protect, respect and promote the Human Right to Adequate Food of these people/communities includes the right to land/territory, the right to self-determination, the promotion of sustainable food systems, and respect for their cultures, knowledge and traditions.

Esta revisión formó parte de la investigación de disertación de maestría del primer autor, en el Programa de Posgrado en Desarrollo Rural Sostenible, en la Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná - Unioeste. Para ello, se presentó una contextualización sobre el Derecho Humano a una Alimentación Adecuada y, luego, la investigación aborda la importancia de una visión étnico-racial para la plena realización de este derecho. Se concluyó que los pueblos indígenas, Pueblos y Comunidades Tradicionales y la población negra se encuentran entre los grupos poblacionales más vulnerables a la Inseguridad Alimentaria y Nutricional y proteger, respetar y promover el Derecho Humano a una Alimentación Adecuada de estos pueblos/comunidades incluye el derecho a la tierra/ territorio, el derecho a la libre determinación, la promoción de sistemas alimentarios sostenibles y el respeto a sus culturas, saberes y tradiciones.Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar uma revisão de literatura sobre o conteúdo Direito Humano Alimentação Adequada a partir de uma análise da sua dimensão étnico-racial. Tal revisão fez parte da pesquisa de dissertação de mestrado da primeira autora, no Programa de Pós-graduação em Desenvolvimento Rural Sustentável, da Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná - Unioeste. Para isso foi apresentada uma contextualização sobre o Direito Humano Alimentação Adequada e, em seguida, a pesquisa aborda a importância de uma visão étnico-racial para a plena realização deste direito.
