Resumo: | Springs are important environmental systems for the maintenance of hydrological, geomorphological and biological balance. However, in urban areas, these springs have been intensely modified by human action. One of the main consequences of urban interventions on the dynamics of springs is changes in water quality. One of the main consequences of urban interventions on the dynamics of springs is changes in water quality. In addition, periods of greater precipitation can interfere with this dynamic. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the water quality index - WQI at the source of the Sussuapara stream in the municipality of Palmas-TO in the year 2021. Nine parameters were studied to assess water quality; four samples were collected in the dry months and four in the rainy months. The results obtained were compared with Conama Resolution nº 357 and showed that the WQI of the headwaters of the Sussuapara stream in the dry months was higher than in the rainy months, being classified as “Good” and “Regular”, respectively. The results showed that the impacts caused by surface runoff and location of the spring are significant in the water quality index. |

Sin embargo, en las áreas urbanas, estos manantiales han sido intensamente modificados por la acción humana. Una de las principales consecuencias de las intervenciones urbanas en la dinámica de los manantiales son los cambios en la calidad del agua. Además, los períodos de mayor precipitación pueden interferir en esta dinámica. Por eso, el presente estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar el índice de calidad de las aguas - ICA en el manantial del Arroyo Sussuapara en el municipio de Palmas-TO en el año 2021. Se estudiaron nueve parámetros para evaluar la calidad del agua, siendo cuatro muestras recogidas en los meses secos y cuatro en los meses lluviosos. Los resultados obtenidos fueron comparados con la Resolución nº 357 del Conama y demostraron que el IQA de la naciente del arroyo Sussuapara en los meses secos fue superior a los meses lluviosos, siendo clasificadas como "Buena" y "Regular", respectivamente. Los resultados mostraron que los impactos causados por la escorrentía superficial y la ubicación del manantial son significativos en el índice de calidad del agua.As nascentes são sistemas ambientais importantes para a manutenção do equilíbrio hidrológico, geomorfológico e biológico. Porém, em áreas urbanas, essas nascentes têm sido intensamente modificadas pela ação humana. Uma das principais consequências das intervenções urbanas na dinâmica das nascentes são as alterações na qualidade da água. Além disso, períodos de maior precipitação podem interferir nessa dinâmica. Por isso, o presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o índice de qualidade das águas – IQA na nascente do Córrego Sussuapara no município de Palmas-TO no ano de 2021. Foram estudados nove parâmetros para avaliar a qualidade da água, sendo quatro amostras coletadas nos meses secos e quatro nos meses chuvosos. Os resultados obtidos foram comparados com a Resolução nº 357 do Conama e demonstraram que o IQA da nascente do Córrego Sussuapara nos meses secos foi superior aos meses chuvosos, sendo classificadas como “Boa” e “Regular”, respectivamente.
