Analysis of environmental perception of students about the Guanabara Bay through drawings

Resumo: Considering the demand for actions that strengthen attitudes towards the recovery of Guanabara Bay (GB), it is necessary to understand the resident´s perceptions about the (bay´s) environment, to develop interventions and processes in environmental education. Thus, the study  analyze the environmental perception of students about GB using drawings produced by themas a methodological strategy. The research was carried out with 19 students of the 7th year of an elementary school located in Ilha do Governador. The drawings were analyzed through the principles of Content Analysis. The results show that students perceive the environment in itnatural and human aspects, and although they recognize BG as a marine environment they also made reference to the municipality in which they live by representing urban elements, which shows that f the city is also part of the GB scenario. It was also evidenced the student´s perception of the GBas a polluted environment. The relations established by the students with an environment impacted by anthropic action demonstrate that pollution and degradation strongly permeate the imaginary of the investigated students towards this space.

Así, el estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la percepción ambiental de estudiantes sobre la BG utilizando como estrategia metodológica los diseños producidos por ellos. La investigación fue realizada con 19 alumnos del 7º año de la enseñanza fundamental II de una escuela situada en la Isla del Gobernador. Los dibujos se analizaron a través de los principios del análisis de contenido. Los resultados demuestran que los alumnos perciben el ambiente en sus aspectos naturales y humanos, y, a pesar de reconocer a BG como un ambiente marino, también hicieron referencia al municipio en que viven al representar elementos urbanos, lo que demuestra que, para ellos, ciudad también forma parte del escenario de BG. También se evidenció la relación de BG con un ambiente contaminado. De esta forma, las relaciones trazadas por los alumnos con un ambiente impactado por la acción antrópica demuestra que la contaminación y la degradación permean fuertemente el imaginario de los estudiantes investigados en relación a ese espacio.Considerando a demanda por ações que fortaleçam atitudes em prol da recuperação da Baía de Guanabara (BG), faz-se necessário compreender as percepções que os moradores do seu entorno possuem acerca desse ambiente, para, então, pensar em intervenções e processos em educação ambiental. Assim, o estudo teve como objetivo analisar a percepção ambiental de estudantes sobre a BG utilizando como estratégia metodológica os desenhos produzidos por eles. A pesquisa foi realizada com 19 alunos do 7º ano do ensino fundamental II de uma escola situada na Ilha do Governador. Os desenhos foram analisados através dos princípios da Análise de Conteúdo. Os resultados demonstram que os alunos percebem o ambiente em seus aspectos naturais e humanos, e, apesar de reconhecerem a BG como um ambiente marinho, também fizeram referência ao município em que vivem ao representar elementos urbanos, o que demonstra que, para eles, a cidade também faz parte do cenário da BG. Também foi evidenciada a relação da BG com um ambiente poluído.
