Gamification in Mathematics Teaching: from Paraná's Curricular Guidelines to classroom, via Teaching Work Plan

Resumo: The objective of the present article is to present the partial results of a work that integrates the line of research “Teaching of Languages and its Technologies” (PPGENS/UNOPAR) and aims to elaborate and apply, in the classroom, a Teaching Work Plan, suggested by the Curricular Guidelines of the State of Paraná, having as programmatic content the theory of plane geometry, in Mathematics classes. The research is justified by the difficulties of the students of the 6th and 7th years of elementary school, related to this programmatic content. Thus, through a qualitative research, applied through action research, we adopt gamification as a tool, in favor of the teaching and learning process, aiming at linking theory and practice. The epistemological construct deals with the theory of the gamification and teaching. After the application of a Teaching Work Plan, the result indicated the proficiency of the classroom games, with a significant increase in students’ interest and motivation concerning their studies, as well as an appropriation of area concepts that are essential for the student’s education.

La investigación se justifica por las dificultades presentadas por alumnos del 6º y 7º años de la Enseñanza Fundamental, con ese contenido programático. Así, fuimos a campo, por medio de una investigación cualitativa, que se aplica mediante investigación-acción, hemos adoptado la gamificación como herramienta, a favor del processo de enseñanza y aprendizaje, con el objetivo de atrelar la teoría y la práctica. El constructo epistemológico versa sobre la teoría de gamificación y la enseñanza. Después de la aplicación del Plan de Trabajo Docente, el resultado indicó la proficuidad del trabajo con juegos en la sala de clase, ya que hubo un aumento significativo del interés y motivación de los alumnos para sus estudios, así como la apropriación de conceptos de área que fueron esenciales para la formación de discentes.O objetivo do presente artigo é apresentar os resultados parciais de um trabalho que integra a linha de pesquisa "Ensino de Linguagens e suas Tecnologias” (PPGENS/UNOPAR) e tem como objetivo elaborar e aplicar, em sala de aula, um Plano de Trabalho Docente, sugerido pelas Diretrizes Curriculares do Estado do Paraná, tendo como conteúdo programático a teoria da geometria plana, na disciplina de Matemática. A pesquisa se justifica pelas dificuldades apresentadas pelos alunos do 6º e 7º anos do Ensino Fundamental, com esse conteúdo programático. Assim, fomos a campo, por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa, aplicada via pesquisa-ação, adotamos a gamificação como ferramenta, a favor do processo de ensino e de aprendizagem, visando atrelar teoria e prática. O construto epistemológico versa sobre a teoria da gamificação e o ensino.
