Resumo: Objective: To evaluate the effect of posterior Nd: YAG laser capsulotomy on pseudophakic eyes in high-order, total and internal aberrations, in different degrees of posterior capsule opacification. Method: Experimental, prospective clinical study of a longitudinal cohort. The study included patients who had undergone cataract surgery (with spherical lens implantation) and had some degree of posterior capsule opacification (OCP). High-order aberrations were measured by the Nidek OPD III aberrometer before and 15 days after posterior Nd: YAG laser capsulotomy. The mean values of total and internal aberrations - spherical, coma and trefoil - pre and post capsulotomy were compared in total and subdivided between degrees of OPC. Results: In all, 64 eyes were included. A statistically significant reduction was found in all total in-house aberrations after capsulotomy. For total aberrations, in grade I, there was a statistically significant reduction in trefoil aberrations, in grade II spherical, grade III spherical, coma and trefoil and grade IV coma and trefoil. For internal aberrations, grade I coma and trefoil, grade II coma, grade III and IV coma and trefoil. Conclusion: It has been shown that this procedure implies a statistically significant reduction in high order aberrations, both internal and total.

Para as aberrações internas, no grau I coma e trifólio, grau II coma, grau III e IV coma e trifólio. Research, Society and Development2020-10-28info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/935610.33448/rsd-v9i10.9356Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 10; e9459109356Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 10; e9459109356Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 10; e94591093562525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/9356/8397Copyright (c) 2020 Odenilson José da Silva; Heloisa Miura; Vilson Rosa de Almeidahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSilva, Odenilson José da Miura, HeloisaAlmeida, Vilson Rosa de 2020-10-31T12:03:23Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/9356Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:31:39.893871Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
