Health education as a tool in the fight against breast cancer: an experience report

Resumo: In Brazil, breast cancer ranks second in terms of neoplasms in the female public. Preventive measures include primary and secondary actions, the primary ones referring to a healthy lifestyle and the secondary ones are more specific, being linked to self-examination, periodic breast assessments and carrying out specific tests, aiming at early diagnosis and increase the chance of a cure. Thus, this study aimed to report a health education action that took place within the scope of primary health care, whose proposal involved the prevention of breast cancer from the prior recognition of its manifestations, as well as the maintenance of healthy habits, aiming at promoting the health of these women. This study is characterized as descriptive with a qualitative approach, an experience report type, based on the use of the Theory of Problematization based on the methodology of the Arch of Charles Maguerez. As main results achieved, it is emphasized that it was possible to sensitize women about the importance of proper self-care, in addition to providing active participation and offering adequate support on the aspects that permeate the disease and its chances of cure through previous diagnosis. Furthermore, it is concluded that the action developed served as a consolidating mechanism of the aspects that constitute health education, reiterating the fundamental function of nursing in the care process.

Las medidas preventivas incluyen acciones primarias y secundarias, las primarias referidas a un estilo de vida saludable y las secundarias son más específicas, estando vinculadas al autoexamen, evaluaciones periódicas de la mama y realización de pruebas específicas, con el objetivo de un diagnóstico precoz y aumento. la posibilidad de una cura. Así, este estudio tuvo como objetivo reportar una acción de educación en salud que se desarrolló en el ámbito de la atención primaria de salud, cuya propuesta implicó la prevención del cáncer de mama desde el reconocimiento previo de sus manifestaciones, así como el mantenimiento de hábitos saludables, con el objetivo de promoviendo la salud de estas mujeres. Este estudio se caracteriza por ser descriptivo con enfoque cualitativo, del tipo relato de experiencia, basado en el uso de la Teoría de la Problematización con base en la metodología del Arco de Carlos Maguerez. Como principales resultados alcanzados, se destaca que fue posible sensibilizar a las mujeres sobre la importancia del autocuidado adecuado, además de brindarles una participación activa y brindar un apoyo adecuado sobre los aspectos que permean la enfermedad y sus posibilidades de curación a través del diagnóstico previo. Además, se concluye que la acción desarrollada sirvió como mecanismo de consolidación de los aspectos que constituyen la educación en salud, reiterando la función fundamental de la enfermería en el proceso de cuidado.No Brasil, o câncer de mama ocupa a segunda colocação no que tange as neoplasias do público feminino. Dessa forma, este estudo objetivou relatar uma ação de educação em saúde ocorrida no âmbito da atenção primária de saúde, cuja proposta perpassava pela prevenção do câncer de mama a partir do reconhecimento prévio de suas manifestações, bem como da manutenção de hábitos saudáveis, visando a promoção da saúde dessas mulheres. Este estudo caracteriza-se como descritivo com abordagem qualitativa, do tipo relato de experiência, a partir da utilização da Teoria da Problematização fundamentada na metodologia do Arco de Charles Maguerez. Como principais resultados alcançados enfatiza-se que foi possível sensibilizar as mulheres sobre a importância do autocuidado adequado, além de oportunizar a participação ativa e ofertar um suporte adequado sobre os aspectos que permeiam a doença e suas chances de cura através do diagnóstico prévio.
