Assessment of the home ecosystem of elderly people with Alzheimer's from the Holistic Ecosystem Health Indicator

Resumo: | The objective was to reflect on the use, by nurses, of the Holistic Ecosystem Health Indicator, in order to contribute to the health of the home Ecosystem and care for the elderly with Alzheimer's disease. It is a descriptive study, reflective analysis type, developed through the reading of scientific articles and book chapters selected in the discipline of Doctorate: Nursing Work / Health and Socio-Environmental Context, of the Graduate Program in Nursing, Federal University of Rio Grande. The Derivation Theory with methodological support and an Ecosystem approach was used as a theoretical framework for reflection. The results are presented through two axes: Presentation of the Holistic Health Indicator of the home ecosystem of elderly people with Alzheimer's disease; Contribution of the Holistic Ecosystem Health Indicator to the home ecosystem of elderly people with Alzheimer's disease. It is concluded that the use of the Holistic Ecosystem Health Indicator, by nurses, can be an important tool in the assessment of the home ecosystem of elderly people with Alzheimer's disease, with a view to finding indicators of instability. The indicators can contribute to the implementation of a care plan directed to the needs of the home ecosystem, as a complex unit. |

Es un estudio descriptivo, tipo de análisis reflexivo, desarrollado a través de la lectura de artículos científicos y capítulos de libros seleccionados en la disciplina de Doctorado: Trabajo de Enfermería/Salud y Contexto Socioambiental, del Programa de Posgrado en Enfermería, Universidad Federal de Rio Grande. La teoría de derivación con apoyo metodológico y un enfoque de ecosistema se utilizó como marco teórico para la reflexión. Los resultados se presentan a través de dos ejes: presentación del indicador holístico de salud del ecosistema doméstico de personas mayores con enfermedad de Alzheimer; Contribución del Indicador Holístico de Salud del Ecosistema para el Ecosistema doméstico de personas mayores con enfermedad de Alzheimer. Se concluye que el uso del Indicador Holístico de Salud del Ecosistema, por parte de las enfermeras, puede ser una herramienta importante en la evaluación del ecosistema doméstico de las personas mayores con enfermedad de Alzheimer, con el fin de encontrar indicadores de inestabilidad. Los indicadores pueden contribuir a la implementación de un plan de atención dirigido a las necesidades del ecosistema del hogar, como una unidad compleja.Objetivou-se refletir acerca da utilização, por enfermeiros, do Indicador Holístico de Saúde do Ecossistema, com vistas contribuir com a saúde do Ecossistema domiciliar e cuidado à pessoa idosa com a doença de Alzheimer. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, tipo análise reflexiva, desenvolvido por meio da leitura de artigos científicos e capítulos de livros selecionados na disciplina de Doutorado: Trabalho da Enfermagem/Saúde e Contexto Sócio-Ambiental, do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Enfermagem, da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande. Utilizou-se a Teoria da Derivação com suporte metodológico e abordagem Ecossistêmica como referencial teórico para a reflexão. Os resultados são apresentados por meio de dois eixos: Apresentação do Indicador Holístico de Saúde do Ecossistema domiciliar de pessoas idosas com a doença de Alzheimer; Contribuição do Indicador Holístico de Saúde do Ecossistema para o Ecossistema domiciliar de pessoas idosas com a doença de Alzheimer. Conclui-se que a utilização do Indicador Holístico de Saúde do Ecossistema, por enfermeiros, pode ser uma importante ferramenta na avaliação do Ecossistema domiciliar de pessoas idosas com a doença de Alzheimer, com vistas ao encontro de indicadores de instabilidade.
