Resumo: This article reports the result of the research that asked about the possible contribution of psychoanalysis applied to social function of Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services in Belo Horizonte/Minas Gerais, according to what is recommended in public health policies. It presents as a general objective, investigate the work done by professionals guided by psychoanalysis, in Northwestern Children's Mental Health Reference Center and Rua Noroeste Office. The work was developed through qualitative research, that way of working that does not interfere with the psychoanalytic orientation present at the base of the investigation, the information was obtained through semi-structured interviews, which favor free association.  Three higher-level professionals from each Service were interviewed. Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis were the guidelines for data analysis. Concluded that applied psychoanalysis contributes to the social function of the researched Services, through clinical treatment, promoting social inclusion, intersectoral actions and strengthening family and community ties. And that, although psychoanalysis is the target of criticism about its efficiency in treatments within institutions she lives on through other speeches.

Su objetivo general es investigar el trabajo realizado por profesionales guiados por el psicoanálisis, en el Centro de Referencia para la Salud Mental del Alcohol y otras Drogas en el Noreste, Centro de Referencia para la Salud Mental en la Infancia y la Juventud, y Northwest Street Clinic. El trabajo se desarrolló a través de la investigación cualitativa, una forma de trabajo que no interfiere con la orientación psicoanalítica presente en la base de la investigación, la información obtenida a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas, que favorecen la libre asociación. Se entrevistó a tres profesionales de primer nivel de cada Servicio. El psicoanálisis freudiano y lacaniano fueron las bases para el análisis de datos. Se concluyó que el psicoanálisis aplicado contribuye a la función social de los Servicios encuestados, a través del tratamiento clínico y promoción de la inserción social, a través de acciones intersectoriales y fortalecimiento de los lazos familiares y comunitarios. Y que, si bien el psicoanálisis es blanco de críticas sobre su eficacia en los tratamientos al interior de las instituciones, sigue vivo en medio de otros discursos.O presente artigo relata resultado de pesquisa que perguntou acerca da possível contribuição da psicanálise aplicada para a função social dos Serviços de Saúde mental, álcool e outras drogas, em Belo Horizonte/Minas Gerais, de acordo com o preconizado nas políticas públicas de saúde. Apresenta como objetivo geral, investigar o trabalho realizado por profissionais orientados pela psicanálise, no Centro de Referência em Saúde Mental Álcool e outras Drogas Nordeste, Centro de Referência em Saúde Mental Infanto- Juvenil Noroeste e Consultório de Rua Noroeste. O trabalho foi desenvolvido através de pesquisa qualitativa, forma de trabalhar que não se interpõe com a orientação psicanalítica presente na base da investigação, as informações obtidas através de entrevistas semiestruturadas, que favorecem a livre associação. Entrevistados três profissionais de nível superior de cada Serviço. A psicanálise freudiana e lacaniana foram os fundamentos para análise dos dados. Concluiu-se que a psicanálise aplicada contribui para a função social dos Serviços pesquisados, por meio do tratamento clínico e promoção da inserção social, através de ações intersetoriais e fortalecimento de laços familiares e comunitários.
