Resumo: Building materials normally change their properties when they are affected by high temperatures. This research analyzed the residual strength of ceramic blocks and cementitious mortars subjected to temperatures of 200, 400, 600 and 800ºC, in three test conditions: hot breakage, breakage after sudden cooling and breakage after slow cooling. There was a gain in compressive strength for the ceramic blocks when hot broken for all temperatures analyzed. However, for the cementitious mortars, there was a gain in strength only in compression for the temperature of 200°C when broken when hot, but for the other test conditions and temperatures, the strength was significantly reduced and showed a drop of around 70% for sudden cooling. at 600°C.

Esta investigación analizó la resistencia residual de bloques cerámicos y morteros cementosos sometidos a temperaturas de 200, 400, 600 y 800ºC, en tres condiciones de ensayo: rotura en caliente, rotura por enfriamiento brusco y rotura por enfriamiento lento. Hubo una ganancia en la resistencia a la compresión de los bloques cerámicos cuando se rompieron en caliente para todas las temperaturas analizadas. Sin embargo, para los morteros cementosos, hubo una ganancia de resistencia solo en compresión para la temperatura de 200ºC de rotura en caliente, pero para las demás condiciones y temperaturas de ensayo, la resistencia se redujo significativamente y mostró una caída del orden del 70% por enfriamiento repentino. a 600°C.Os materiais de construção normalmente alteram suas propriedades quando são acometidos as altas temperaturas. Essa pesquisa analisou a resistência residual de blocos cerâmicos e de argamassas cimentícias submetidos as temperaturas de 200, 400, 600 e 800ºC, em três condições de ensaio: rompimento à quente, rompimento após resfriamento brusco e rompimento após resfriamento lento. Ocorreu ganho de resistência à compressão para os blocos cerâmicos quando rompidos a quente para todas as temperaturas analisadas.
