Resumo: Currently, decentralized educational management or democratic management is a reality worldwide and in Brazil. As the democratic process develops, education needs to accompany society, forming citizens capable of exercising democracy as they wish. Theoretically, Brazilian schools have democratic management, however, in practice, implementation has still taken place for decades and faces several challenges from different factors, both internal and external. The present study is justified by the need to point out these challenges, with the objective of briefly analyzing the challenges and pointing out possible solutions. To this end, a qualitative research was used, in relation to the objectives, it is an exploratory research and the procedures, the study was characterized as bibliographic. The research was carried out in a virtual environment, in reliable databases, with published scientific articles and also includes virtual environments for studies and research in Pedagogy for theoretical reference. An analytical reading was carried out and the main aspects were highlighted. Afterwards, the textual production was elaborated in two titles that are correlated: School management and democratic management and Challenges faced in democratic school management. The author's impressions as well as the conclusions make up the Final Considerations.

A medida que se desarrolla el proceso democrático, la educación necesita acompañar a la sociedad, formando ciudadanos capaces de ejercer la democracia como lo deseen. Teóricamente, las escuelas brasileñas tienen una gestión democrática, sin embargo, en la práctica, la implementación aún se lleva a cabo durante décadas y enfrenta varios desafíos de diferentes factores, tanto internos como externos. El presente estudio se justifica por la necesidad de señalar estos desafíos, con el fin de analizar brevemente los desafíos y señalar posibles soluciones. Para ello se utilizó una investigación cualitativa, en relación a los objetivos es una investigación exploratoria y los procedimientos, el estudio se caracterizó como bibliográfico. La investigación se realizó en un ambiente virtual, en bases de datos confiables, con artículos científicos publicados y además incluye ambientes virtuales de estudios e investigaciones en Pedagogía para referencia teórica. Se realizó una lectura analítica y se destacaron los principales aspectos. Posteriormente, la producción textual se elaboró en dos títulos que se correlacionan: Gestión escolar y gestión democrática y Desafíos de la gestión escolar democrática. Las impresiones del autor así como las conclusiones conforman las Consideraciones Finales.Atualmente, a gestão educacional descentralizada ou gestão democrática, é uma realidade mundial e no Brasil. Ao passo que o processo democrático se desenvolve, a educação precisa acompanhar a sociedade, formando cidadãos capazes de exercer a democracia como deseja. Teoricamente, as escolas brasileiras apresentam gestão democrática, porém, na prática, a implementação ainda ocorre há décadas e enfrenta diversos desafios de diferentes fatores, internos e externos. O presente estudo justifica-se pela necessidade de apontamento desses desafios, com o objetivo de analisar brevemente os desafios e apontar possíveis soluções. Para tal, utilizou-se de pesquisa de caráter qualitativo, em relação aos objetivos, é uma pesquisa exploratória e aos procedimentos, o estudo caracterizou-se como bibliográfico. A pesquisa foi realizada em meio virtual, em bases de dados confiáveis, com artigos científicos publicados e inclui também ambientes virtuais de estudos e pesquisas em Pedagogia para referencial teórico. Foi realizada uma leitura analítica e destacados os aspectos principais. Após, foi elaborada a produção textual em dois títulos que se correlacionam: Gestão escolar e gestão democrática e Desafios enfrentados na gestão escolar democrática.
