Rhipicephalus (boophilus) microplus “in vitro” bovine tick biocontrol with dehydrated garlic

Resumo: | The general objective of this research is to evaluate the “in vitro” efficacy of different concentrations of dehydrated garlic (Attack Plus®), for the control of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus teleogens. Dehydrated garlic (Attack Plus®) was tested “in vitro” using four groups of teleogens, in quadruplicate, containing the control group and groups containing dehydrated garlic concentrations equal to 0.1%, 0, 5% and 1%(m/v). The teleogens of the control group were immersed for 5 min in 15 mL of distilled water and 5 mL adjuvant (mineral oil), while the other concentrations were immersed for 5 min in 20 mL of a solution containing 15 mL of distilled water, 5 mL adjuvant and dehydrated garlic in their respective concentrations. After immersion, the teleogens were dried on paper towels and fixed by means of adhesive tape on Petry plates, previously identified and placed in an air-conditioned oven, regulated at a temperature of 27 ºC, relative humidity greater than 80% for 26 days to observe oviposition. Afterwards, the oviposition content was weighed in its entirety and 0.3 g of this content was stored in test tubes, sealed with cotton wool and sent back to the oven, being kept for 26 days in order to assess the percentage of hatchability. After the treatments, the performance of the product (Attack Plus®) was positively concluded through the results obtained, where all groups were effective in the results, because even if the oviposition occurred, the eggs did not hatch. |

El ajo deshidratado (Attack Plus®) se probó "in vitro" utilizando cuatro grupos de teleógenos, por cuadruplicado, que contienen el grupo de control y los grupos que contienen concentraciones de ajo deshidratado iguales a 0,1%, 0, 5% y 1%(m/v). Los teleógenos del grupo control se sumergieron durante 5 min en 15 mL de agua destilada y 5 mL adyuvante (aceite mineral), mientras que las otras concentraciones se sumergieron durante 5 min en 20 mL de una solución que contenía 15 mL de agua destilada, 5 mL adyuvante y ajo deshidratado en sus respectivas concentraciones. Después de la inmersión, los teleógenos se secaron sobre toallas de papel y se fijaron mediante cinta adhesiva sobre placas de Petry, previamente identificadas y colocadas en un horno climatizado, regulado a una temperatura de 27 ºC, humedad relativa superior al 80% durante 26 días para observar la oviposición. Posteriormente, se pesó el contenido de oviposición en su totalidad y se almacenaron 0.3 g de este contenido en tubos de ensayo, se sellaron con algodón y se enviaron de regreso al horno, manteniéndose durante 26 días para evaluar el porcentaje de incubabilidad. Luego de los tratamientos, el desempeño del producto (Attack Plus®) se concluyó positivamente mediante los resultados obtenidos, donde todos los grupos resultaron efectivos en los resultados, ya que aunque ocurriera la oviposición, los huevos no eclosionaron.O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é avaliar a eficácia “in vitro” de diferentes concentrações de alho desidratado (Attack Plus®), para o controle de teleóginas de Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus. O alho desidratado (Attack Plus®) foi testado “in vitro” utilizando quatro grupos de teleóginas, em quadruplicata, contendo o grupo controle e os grupos com concentrações do alho desidratado igual a 0,1, 0,5 e 1%(m/v). As teleóginas do grupo controle foram imersas durante 5 min em 15 mL de água destilada e 5 mL adjuvante (óleo mineral), enquanto as demais concentrações foram imersas durante 5 min em 20 mL de uma solução contendo 15 mL água destilada, 5 mL de adjuvante e alho desidratado em suas respectivas concentrações. Após a imersão, as teleóginas foram secas em papel toalha e fixadas por meio de fita adesiva em placas de Petry, previamente identificadas e colocadas em uma estufa climatizada, regulada à temperatura de 27 ºC, umidade relativa superior a 80% por 26 dias para observar a oviposição. Após, o conteúdo da oviposição, foi pesado na sua totalidade e 0,3 g desse conteúdo foi armazenado em tubos de ensaio, vedados com algodão hidrófilo e encaminhados novamente à estufa, sendo mantidos por 26 dias a fim de avaliar o percentual de eclodibilidade.
